The House "Sea Shanty"
This imposing house, about 5km from the town centre, is in a league of its own! Situated in the historic ‘Flinders Bay Settlement’ it is a mere 30 metre walk to the protected ‘Granny’s Pool’ paddling / swimming rock pool.

Granny’s Pool is the perfect swimming / paddling place for toddlers. Surrounded by a natural rock perimeter it is calm for most of the day. In summer it is a perfect spot to for parents with babies and toddlers.
The large house, known for many years as “Sea Shanty”, is very spacious with stunning views over Granny’s Pool, the Southern Ocean, Augusta Boat Harbour and the Leeuwin Lighthouse. You can sit on the very long open upstairs balcony facing the ocean and watch the world go by. Red wine and cheese on the balcony in the late afternoon / evening is almost mandatory at Sea Shanty!

The house itself is very comfortable. It has an incredibly large kitchen / dining area that also has unspoilt views over the ocean. Wow! Views from every which way in this house! This dining area also doubles as the ‘downstairs lounge room’.
There is an upstairs en-suite and a downstairs bathroom as well as a third toilet off the upstairs laundry.
We have a washing machine and laundry trough in the downstairs bathroom
The upstairs lounge room is huge with stunning views over Granny's Pool and the Southern Ocean. The new boat harbour is clearly visible from this room.
The upstairs balcony off this lounge room runs the length of the house and is equipped with adequate seating for six people with their red wine and biscuits and cheese while looking over the sunset.
We are so proud of our house. It is so spacious!
See the images above showing the very large and well equipped kitchen spilling out into the dining / lounge area. The dining table seats 6 people in comfort and after the meal you can watch the television from the ample lounge suites. You can have your meal while gazing over Granny's Pool which is clearly visible from the two sliding glass doors. Open the doors and feel the refreshing Southern Ocean breeze.
The kitchen boasts an ultra modern six place induction cooktop and a spacious electric oven. For your convenience we have a large microwave oven, 4-slice toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother and a large setting dishwasher. Naturally the cupoards and drawers are filled with sufficient crockery, cutlery pots and pans and further electrical appliances.
SLEEPING ACCOMMODATION
Sea Shanty boasts four bedrooms. One downstairs adult bedroom has a queen size bed and two spacious childrens’ bedrooms with a double bed size bottom bunk and single bed size top bunk.
Upstairs is the master bedroom, a very large room with king size bed and posture supporting mattress. A spacious en-suite is attached to this bedroom. As would be expected, the large windows give stunning views over the ocean, Flinders Bay and Granny’s Pool.
In the master bedroom you can even watch the flat screen wall mounted television from the king size bed!
THE UPSTAIRS LOUNGE ROOM AND BALCONY
The very large upstairs lounge room is huge and the views from this room are sublime! Very comfortable furniture and flat screen television complete the living area. The sliding glass door takes you out to the full length open sided balcony. Outdoor furniture and table complete the comfort while sitting and watching the often stunning sunset.
INTERNET AND MOBILE COVERAGE
You've heard it before. You are here to holiday. We do not have internet here and mobile phone coverage is fair at best. Telstra & Optus have the best mobile coverage. Most people on holiday choose to purchase internet over a coffee at the "Deckchair Cafe" in town. We choose a Telstra Dongle that we top up as necessary.
Telstra as lodged plans for a communications tower near the Leeuwin Lighthouse so coverage should improve dramatically very soon.
